History of Bundi Fort (Taragarh Fort)

Bundi Fort was built in AD 1354 by Rao Deva, the founder of Bundi. It was one of the first strongholds of the Hada Chauhan Rajputs, a powerful warrior clan of Rajasthan.

For centuries, the fort served as the main defense point of Bundi kingdom. It played an important role in Rajput–Mughal encounters and stood as a symbol of pride and bravery. Several rulers of Bundi added palaces, gates, murals, and temples inside the fort, giving it a unique mix of art and defense architecture.
