Fatehpur Sikri: Akbar’s Imperial Dream City
Fatehpur Sikri, near present-day Agra in Uttar Pradesh, is one of the most remarkable urban experiments in South Asian history. Built by the third Mughal emperor, Akbar, in the late 16th century, the city served as the capital of the Mughal Empire for a short but significant period.
